Connie Zuckerman, Founder and Managing Editor of agebuzz, is an attorney and bioethics consultant with decades of professional experience focused on geriatric patient care, as well as years of personal experience as a family caregiver for older relatives. She has worked in hospitals, nursing homes, and home care settings, and has spent thousands of hours in both academic and clinical centers working with professionals, patients and families. Connie has written and co-written books, journal articles and reports on various aspects of healthcare and caregiving for older persons. She’s a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania and New York University School of Law, and recently welcomed her first grandchild. Connie reads and analyzes everything she can get her hands on concerning aging in the 21st century.

Karen Applebome, Editor, agebuzz, comes to agebuzz via her previous experience as the Assistant Director of a community continuing education program in Westchester County, New York. She is a geriatric social worker by training and has partnered with a number of non-profit senior organizations in the metropolitan New York area. Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Pitzer College in California and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Her 95-year-old father keeps her on her toes.

Julie Buyon, Contributing Editor, agebuzz, is a palliative care patient advocate who assists people who have serious and complex illnesses navigate a challenging health care environment. Her focus is on making patients feel empowered and powerful. She has worked in hospitals and nursing homes, and run many community programs for seniors about health care. She is also a potter and most of her clothing has mud on it someplace. Julie is a graduate of Northwestern University (BS) and Sarah Lawrence College (MA Health Advocacy). Her favorite question for the patients she meets with is “What can we do to make this better?” and her favorite – and most frequent – answer is “I think we can help you out with that!

Art Zuckerman, Co-Founder and Business Operations And Technology Advisor for agebuzz, has decades of experience managing, and consulting for, the business operations and technology concerns of major venture capital and private equity firms. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Columbia University. Part of his role at agebuzz is to test out all of the cool new technology products we discover. The fact that he shares the same last name as Connie Zuckerman is not a coincidence.

Jacqueline Basulto, Web Development and Advertising, is the owner of digital growth agency SeedX Inc., which advises small and medium-sized businesses on how to scale online utilizing social media, Google AdWords, SEO, content, and web design and development. Jacqueline is a native New Yorker, a graduate of Columbia University and is passionate about agebuzz, her French Bulldog Meatball, and entrepreneurship.
